My $68 proofing basket was a one-hit wonder, then it fell apart
I bought a nice rattan proofing basket back in March because every video made it look essential. First two loaves came out great, nice spiral marks, dough didn't stick at all. By loaf number five the reed started splintering and bits kept ending up in the dough. By the tenth loaf the whole thing just cracked along the side like an old wicker chair. I went back to using a mixing bowl with a floured tea towel and honestly the results are the same. The towel costs about $4 and I can just toss it in the wash. Has anyone else had a basket go bad this fast, or did I just get a dud from a bad batch?

Did you see that King Arthur blog post about bamboo baskets lasting way longer?
