Drove past that old bakery in Springfield and noticed the sign is finally gone

Stopped by Miller's Bakery last weekend on my route, the place that closed about 5 years ago. The building's been empty this whole time and I guess someone finally pulled down the faded wooden sign out front. Reminded me how they used to sell those crusty sourdough loaves for $3.50 that I'd grab on my lunch break. Anyone else have a local spot that just quietly disappeared?

Honestly, Miller's Bakery was exactly the kind of spot I was thinking of. They had those sourdough loaves that were perfect for sopping up soup or just eating plain with butter. I remember their rye bread too, it had that dense, chewy crust that you just don't find anymore. It's sad how these little local bakeries just fade away without anyone really noticing until the sign finally comes down.
