Went back to my old college greenhouse last weekend

The place used to have this huge collection of carnivorous plants but now it's mostly succulents and pothos. I counted maybe 3 sarracenia left in the bog setup we built back in 2015. Anyone else seen their old botany spots get gutted like that?

Wait, you guys built that bog setup? That was one of the coolest things in the whole greenhouse back when I was a student. I used to think those big plant collections were just for show, like something the school kept around to impress visitors. But now that I've got my own little garden at home, I totally get how much work goes into keeping stuff like that alive. It's a bummer they let it fade out like that, but I guess budgets and priorities change over the years.

Wait, @brian_kelly91 do you remember the schedule we used to have for watering those things? I heard from one of the current bio undergrads that the new greenhouse manager just couldn't keep up with the distilled water orders for the carnivores (pricy stuff, right?), so they slowly swapped in the succulents instead. Did you ever see any of those old pitcher plants get moved to someone's home collection, or did they just let them die off?
