Warning: My coworker called her pothos a 'succulent' and I had to bite my tongue...

She was showing off her plant in the breakroom and said it only needed water once a month because it's a succulent. I gently told her pothos are tropical vines and like more frequent water, showing her my own that I water weekly in my Denver apartment. It matters because calling everything a succulent can lead to over or under watering. Has anyone else had to correct a basic plant category mix-up?

Oh man that drives me nuts. My neighbor calls her snake plant a cactus. Like no, it stores water but it's not even close. I just smile and nod now, not worth the fight. Some people just have their own plant facts and they stick to them no matter what.

Actually I'd correct them, it helps everyone learn.
