PSA: stop repotting your plants on a schedule, I killed 3 pothos doing that
For two years I repotted all my houseplants every spring like clockwork, thinking fresh soil was always better. Then a guy at the plant swap in Sacramento asked why my pothos leaves were yellowing, and he said I was basically drowning the roots by repotting before they were root bound. So now I wait until I actually see roots poking out the drainage holes, which for my big monstera took about 14 months. Three of my pothos died from root rot before I figured this out. Does anyone else go by root visibility instead of a calendar, or am I just late to this?
