My christmas cactus bloomed 3 weeks late and it looked totally different
I've had this christmas cactus for about 4 years now and it always blooms right around the holidays. But this year I moved it from my kitchen window to a south-facing shelf in the living room back in October. It started putting out buds in early January and finally opened up last week. The flowers were way more pink than the usual deep red I'm used to seeing. I think the extra light hours or maybe the cooler spot changed the color somehow. I've read that temperature can affect bloom color in some plants but I never thought it would be this noticeable. Has anyone else had a plant shift color just from moving it to a different window?

That light change could definitely be the culprit, plants are surprisingly sensitive to their environment. Did the blooms also come out smaller or with a different shape than usual, or was it just the color shift? Really curious if the whole flower structure changed too or just the pigment.

No way, the whole color changed just from moving it? That's wild, I've never heard of a cactus doing that before.
