Just realized my mom's old African violet trick actually works
She always said to water them from the bottom with lukewarm water, and I thought it was old lady nonsense until I tried it on a plant that was drooping for 3 weeks. It bounced back in 4 days, anyone else got a weird inherited plant tip that turned out legit?
And it makes total sense when you think about it, the roots are down there and they drink what they need instead of getting drowned on top. My grandma did the same thing with her violets and also said to let the pot sit in the water for like 20 minutes max so it doesn't soak too much. I started doing that with my snake plant too, just a shallow saucer of lukewarm water and it stopped getting those brown tips. Another thing she swore by was wiping the dust off the leaves with a soft brush, said they need to breathe. Guess the old ladies were onto something, they just didn't explain the science.
