I finally kept a succulent alive for a whole year

My history with plants is basically a graveyard of dried up leaves and guilt. I got a little Haworthia from a shop in Austin last May and it actually survived a Texas summer and a move to a new apartment. I gave it a few tablespoons of water every 3 weeks and put it in a west window. Anyone else have a plant that just clicked with their neglect style?

Wait so you only water it every 3 weeks and it actually stays alive? I have a jade plant that I basically ignore for months then drown it when I remember and somehow it's still kicking. But the second I try to follow a Proper Schedule for anything it immediately dies. Is it the Haworthia itself that's easy or did you just get lucky with the west window placement?

West window saved my Haworthia too, but I killed three before that. How wet is your soil when you finally remember to water? I let mine get bone dry for at least a week before I even think about it.
