Heard a guy at the Portland nursery say ferns "drink" from the air, and now I keep staring at my crispy maidenhair
Last Saturday I was killing time at a plant swap in Portland and a guy holding a staghorn fern told me most houseplant ferns don't really take water from their roots, they pull humidity through their fronds. I went home and moved my maidenhair off the heat vent and started misting it near a tray of pebbles, and after 9 days the tips finally quit browning. Has anyone actually gotten a maidenhair to thrive indoors long term, or is misting just slowing down the inevitable?
