Can we talk about the time I killed a cactus by being too nice to it

I had a little barrel cactus on my kitchen windowsill for about a year, and I watered it every single Sunday because I thought it needed a regular schedule. The thing turned into a mushy, brown blob last month. My friend, who actually works at the Phoenix botanical garden, saw it and said, 'Charlie, you drowned it. That thing wanted a drink maybe once a season.' I felt like a total plant murderer. Has anyone else had a 'less is more' wake-up call with a specific plant?

My fiddle leaf fig dropped every single leaf after I moved it to a sunnier spot and watered it twice a week.

Less is more" is the story of my life, honestly.
