Appreciation post: moss on the north side of my oak isn't a compass, it just likes shade
Got curious after seeing it pointed the wrong way on an oak in my Columbus yard and looked it up: moss grows where it stays damp, and shade and bark texture matter way more than direction on a single tree, so I stopped using it as a sign and started checking the whole trunk and soil, has anyone else noticed it growing somewhere way off from what the old rule says?
