A old gardener told me to talk to my plants and I laughed at him until my tomato yield tripled

Back in May my neighbor who's been growing stuff since the 70s caught me out front watering my seedlings. He said 'you gotta talk to em, they like the vibration from your voice'. I thought he was nuts. But I got bored one afternoon and started rambling at my tomatoes about the weather and how my job sucks. Just talking out loud. Those plants went absolutely nuts. I got 45 pounds off 4 plants. My other veggies that got the silent treatment? Not even close. Anyone else have a weird plant trick that actually worked?

My buddy tried playing classical music for his peppers and they grew like crazy, swore by it.

Yeah @andrewh95 I hear you on the music thing. My cousin plays like old school country to his squash and swears they perk up. I've been doing the same thing with my tomatoes this year too - just talking about the weather or whatever stupid thing happened at work. It sounds crazy but the plants that get the chatter are definitely bigger and greener than the ones I ignore. The silent treatment ones look kinda sad honestly.
