That $60 nipping press I bought on a whim saved my stupid hide

I was struggling with sewing text blocks on my kitchen table for like 2 years. Books kept sliding around and my spine folds were a mess. Finally broke down and got a cheap nipping press off Ebay for 60 bucks plus shipping. First time I used it I felt like such a fool for waiting so long. Has anyone else had one tool that just made everything click?
