Switched from linen thread to waxed polyester 6 months ago and I'm not going back
I used to fight with linen thread every project - it would fray and snap on me constantly, especially when I was doing tight headbands. A buddy at the Austin bindery meetup told me to try waxed polyester and I figured he was just trying to sell me something. Finally caved after my third broken thread on a 1700s restoration job, now I get through a full book without a single rethread. Anyone else switch materials and find it changed their whole workflow?

Oh man, does the waxed polyester leave any sticky residue on your fingers after a long session?

@fisher.taylor Not at all, maybe you're gripping too hard or buying cheap stuff.
