Still getting used to switching from wheat paste to PVA for spine linings
I spent about 15 years using wheat paste for all my spine work, soaking the linen strips in a bowl and letting them get messy. Last month I finally switched to PVA after a bad batch of paste went sour on me and ruined a project. Does anyone else find PVA dries too fast for proper adjustment, or am I just not mixing it right?

Oh man, have you tried cutting the PVA with a little water to slow it down?

The water trick works okay but I always worry about overdoing it and ending up with a runny mess. Last time I tried that with a little project at 2am because I forgot I needed it for the next day, total disaster. Hey @mila395 have you ever accidentally glued your fingers together trying to rush through a pour?
