Rant: My first leather spine took me 8 hours to finish
I thought I'd have it done in a weekend afternoon, but shaping the leather to curve around the spineboard was a nightmare. It kept slipping and I had to re-soak it three times in my kitchen sink to get it right. Did any of you have a similar struggle your first time working with leather, or was I just unlucky?

My first leather project was a knife sheath that took me closer to ten hours because I couldn't get the stitching holes to line up. I ended up buying a set of those little spring clamps from the hardware store to hold everything in place while I worked, and that made a world of difference.

Did you try using a little water to help the leather flex? @riley_bell those spring clamps are a lifesaver, I use them to hold my patterns in place when I cut. My first leather project was a bracelet and it took me like six tries to get the snap right.
