Overheard a customer ask for a book "signed" and it got me thinking

Was at the bindery drop-off counter on Tuesday and this woman asked if we could "sign" her rebind. She meant emboss her name on the cover, not autograph it. Took me a minute to figure out what she wanted. It made me realize how many people outside the trade don't know the difference between lettering, stamping, and actual marbling or tooling. Has anyone else had a customer use the wrong term and you just rolled with it?
