Had a customer complain my book spines were too tight 10 years ago

She said they cracked when she opened them, so I started backing my spine lining with a thinner paper and letting the glue set longer before casing in. Has anyone else adjusted their spine tightness based on feedback or do you just stick with how you learned it?

Funny you mention that, I had a guy come into the shop once and say my corners were too sharp. He was worried he'd poke his eye out reading in bed. So I started rounding them just a little more, maybe like an eighth of an inch extra. Now I can't go back to the old way, feels like I'm making little daggers.

And you know, that customer probably saved you from some complaints down the line, @victor_perry90. I had a similar thing happen with the weight of my covers a few years back, lady said they were too heavy to hold in bed, now I use a lighter paper and it's all anyone wants.
