Why I stopped using public library books for my book club

I had to choose between borrowing from the library or buying copies for our group, and after 3 months of library holds causing late starts on our discussions, I just buy the $8 paperbacks now. Has anyone else dealt with the timing mess of library copies?

Been there. Nothing like having 6 out of 8 people finish by page 50 while the rest of us are waiting on copy #4 from the reserve list. I swear my book club's reading schedule runs on library time, not human time.

@oliver_torres4 read libraries are switching to fewer copies per title too, so it's only getting worse.
