Why does every book club I've been in rush through the last 20 pages?
We spent 90 minutes last Tuesday arguing about the main character's motivation in chapter 7, but when we got to the actual ending, our moderator just said 'so, what did everyone think?' and moved on. I realized we never actually debate how a book sticks the landing, which is the most important part. How does your group make sure the final chapters get the same attention as the middle?

My group is so bad at endings we once forgot to discuss the last book entirely.

Totally get that. My last group did the same thing, always ran out of steam right at the end.
