Shoutout to the book club I joined back in 2018 for changing how we talk about books

When I first joined my local club six years ago, our debates were basically just 'I liked it' or 'I didn't'. Now, after one member started bringing in articles about the author's life or the book's historical setting, our chats got way deeper. Last month, we spent a full hour arguing about the unreliable narrator in 'Gone Girl' because someone found a 2012 interview with Gillian Flynn. That never would have happened before. It feels like we went from just sharing opinions to actually digging into the 'why' behind a story. Has your group's discussion style shifted over the years, or is it just mine?

Oh man, @casey_torres60, I had the same thing happen last month. Honestly, I just made myself do one tiny piece of it first, like just opening the document. Once I started, it wasn't so bad. I set a timer for 20 minutes and told myself I could stop after that, but I usually kept going. Breaking it into those little chunks was the only way it got done.
