Our book club pick turned into a full-blown argument about pineapple on pizza
Last Tuesday my book club met at Marcy's place to discuss that new thriller. But someone brought up a side character eating pineapple pizza and suddenly we spent 45 minutes debating it. I tried to steer us back to the plot but Sarah was yelling about food purity and Bob was listing historical pizza facts. Ended up with three people nearly leaving and the book barely discussed. Has anyone else had a book club debate completely derail over something this random?

Oh man this reminds me of my friend Lisa's true crime book club where they spent an hour arguing if you can call a killer a cinnamon roll character. Someone said it was a perfectly valid term and another person stormed off to get more wine. They never did finish discussing the actual case.

@sarah_nelson sounds like that book club has their priorities straight. Wine arguments always win over actual case details I guess. Next meeting they should just skip the killer analysis and debate if the snacks are morally acceptable instead.
