Mark's side hustle came out during our career book chat
We picked a book about finding passion at work for our office book club. Halfway through, Mark blurted out he makes scented candles on the side. Suddenly, everyone was asking for orders instead of talking about the text. Our boss tuned in and got totally confused about the sudden pivot. Now every meeting starts with us joking about reading by candlelight, right?

People are always blending their personal projects into work conversations without even realizing it. It's like we all secretly hope our hobbies become a side hustle, so we test the waters by mentioning them in safe group settings. Mark probably just wanted to share something he's proud of, but once the ordering started, it took on a life of its own. Do you think Mark meant for his candle thing to become a sales pitch, or was it just an honest share that got out of hand? I wonder if people are accidentally finding customers at work or if they're sort of hoping for it.
