I finally called out my book club for ignoring the plastic cups at our meetings
We just finished a book about ocean pollution, and all anyone wanted to discuss was big corporations. I said our own habit of using disposable cups each week makes us part of the problem. Half the group got defensive, saying it's just a small thing. But if we can't fix our tiny book club, what hope is there? Now I bring my own mug and get weird looks every time.

Steady pressure is what actually pushes back" is so true.

Ever notice how people dismiss small actions as meaningless? That's the exact thinking that lets big problems keep growing.

How many times have you seen someone shut down a good idea because it won't fix everything at once? Honestly, I just ignore those people now. Tbh, the move is to focus on making your small action a normal habit, not a big deal. That steady pressure is what actually pushes back.
