Debate: Physical books vs e-readers for big group reads
Our club had a big argument last meeting about whether to stick with paperbacks or move to Kindles for our monthly picks. I argued that physical books are better because you can flip back and forth easily when discussing details. But three people said e-readers let them adjust font size and carry multiple books to compare passages. Which approach has worked better for your book club debates?

...and that's exactly why I read a study from some library journal that said people retain information better from paper for group discussions. Something about having the physical page layout in your memory helps you recall where things happened. I get the font size thing though, my eyes aren't what they used to be. But for our club meetings, we stick with paperbacks and I just bring a small magnifier bookmark. Seems to work fine.

Started a book club fight once when I brought my Kindle and everyone else had paperbacks. Forgot to charge it halfway through the meeting and had to borrow someone's old beat up copy of the book. Now I bring BOTH just to be safe since getting a dead device in the middle of a debate is the WORST.
