Comparing two book club formats we tried last year
Our group of 12 in Portland spent six months doing the classic everyone-reads-the-same-book structure and it was okay but not great. Then we switched to a parallel reading format where members picked from three related books and discussed connections between them. The difference was huge, people actually came prepared and we had real debates instead of just nodding along. Has anyone else tried mixing up the standard format like this?

Did your friend try that parallel format thing or something different?
