Worst week in 11 years, all because of one inspection in Gary
Last month I had a string of bad days that still makes me cringe. A client in Gary wanted me to sign off on a drum that had cracks I could see from 10 feet away. I said no, and their plant manager told me I was being difficult and costing them $18,000 a day in downtime. I held my ground, but then my own foreman sided with them and pulled me off the job for two days. That same week my torch regulator started sticking on a different site and I had to rent a backup for $140. By Friday I was second-guessing myself, but I still would not pass that drum. Has anyone else had a client try to push a bad weld or crack through just to hit a deadline?
