Warning: spent 45 minutes looking for a 3/4 socket that was in my back pocket the whole time
Had to stop and re-do the alignment on a pressure vessel head after I dropped a shim under the deck plate, and by the time I found the socket I was already 2 hours behind on the weld prep - anyone else lose hours to their own gear like that?

...and then I spent another 20 minutes looking for my 10mm wrench that was in my cup holder because I set it down to check the torque. I've lost more hours to my own pockets than to any actual tool failure. One time I had a tape measure stuck in my back pocket for three days and swore a gremlin had stolen it. At this point I just do a full pat-down before I start any job.
