Tube sheet leak at 3am on a Tuesday in Baton Rouge

I was on a turnaround in Baton Rouge about 15 years back, doing a hydro on a waste heat boiler, and around 3am I see water weeping from a rolled tube right at the tube sheet. Boss wanted to just reroll it and move on, but we were 40 feet up in the mud drum and I wasn't about to half ass it, so we pulled the tube, reamed the hole, and put a new one in, which cost us 6 hours. Old timers back then would've caught it with a simple tap test before we ever filled the drum, and now everything's cameras and ultrasound so the young guys never learn that feel. What do you all do when someone above you pushes to skip a step like that?
