Took me 6 years to figure out a cheaper way to clean tube sheets

I was out at a plant in Gary last month scrubbing a condenser tube sheet with a wire brush and getting nowhere. A older guy I was working with handed me a scotch brite pad wrapped around a putty knife and told me to use a drill with that. Cleaned the whole sheet in 45 minutes flat instead of the 3 hours I usually spend. Any of you guys ever tried that or got another method that works better?

Doesn't sound faster than just using a pressure washer on it.

Pressure washers are great until you're trying to get a stubborn spot off a wooden fence and you end up carving a trench in it instead.
