The time a stray cat became my welding inspector
We were doing a big boiler tube replacement job at the old paper mill in Kalamazoo, and this orange tabby just walked in and sat on my tool cart. Every time I struck an arc, he'd tilt his head and watch the puddle like he was checking my work. The foreman, Jerry, started calling him 'the QC guy' and joked we should put him on the payroll. Has a random animal ever 'supervised' your crew on a job site?

Had a big red-tailed hawk that would perch on the crane hook every morning at this bridge project. It felt like he was watching our rigging, judging every sling angle. The crew started calling him the safety officer. He stuck around for three months until we poured the last pier.

Honestly used to think animals on site were just a nuisance. That changed watching a stray dog at our crew shack who would only sit next to guys who packed their lunch pail right, like he was checking for proper gear. Reminds me of @simono90's hawk safety officer. Some of them really do seem to be clocking in.
