The new digital log for boiler checks is more hassle than help

I've been stuck with this fresh digital log setup for boiler checks for a couple months now. It always takes ages to open on the tablets we get at the site. Just yesterday, I was putting in a standard check and the app quit on me twice. Every time it happened, I had to begin from scratch, losing a solid chunk of my day. The previous paper sheets were a bit dull, but they never locked up like this junk. Now I pack both types, just to be safe, and it makes my kit heavier. It seems like nobody tried this thing in a real place before they gave it to us. I really want them to hear what we say and sort it out.

Tell me about it. I had the same app freeze up right as I was about to save a full inspection. Lost the whole thing. Now I take photos of every screen as I go, just in case it crashes again. It adds like ten extra minutes to a simple job. The old paper system was slow, but at least it was reliable. This feels like they built it in an office with perfect wifi, not a damp basement.

Taking photos as a backup is smart, but it's crazy that we need a whole extra step just to make their tool work. That extra time adds up fast on a busy day, making the whole system slower than paper. Did they even test this with spotty cell service?
