The day my pressure washer quit halfway up a boiler at the refinery
Last Tuesday I was blasting scale off a feedwater heater at the Marathon plant in Gary, and the hose split right at the fitting, spraying hot water everywhere. My helper dove behind a tool box, I nearly dropped the lance, and the foreman just yelled over the hiss, 'Shut it down before we wash the whole unit out.' Took me 20 minutes to find a spare coupling in the gang box, and by then the pressure drop let all that crud settle back in the tubes. Has anyone else had a sudden hose failure mid-clean, or is it just my luck with rental equipment?
