Switched from a 4.5 inch grinder to a 7 inch for my last boiler tube replacement in Gary and cut my fit-up time by about 40 minutes per joint.

The bigger wheel let me reach deeper into the tube sheet without switching tools halfway through, has anyone else noticed that big of a difference stepping up in wheel size?

Read somewhere that 7 inch wheels cut way faster on thick plate too.

Nah, 7 inch wheels bog down worse on thick plate in my experience, @julia_hayes.
