Old timer told me to stop fighting the welder and let it do the work
I was at a shop in Cleveland last Tuesday, grinding away on a bead that kept birdnesting, and this guy with 40 years in just watched for a minute before saying 'you're muscling it, son, the machine knows what it's doing.' He walked over and turned my wire speed down 15% and it laid down perfect on the next pass. Has anyone else had someone point out a tiny adjustment that totally changed how you work?

Man that's exactly what happened to me with my MIG welder. I was fighting this bead for like an hour and my buddy just bumped the voltage down a notch and it was smooth as butter after that. It's wild how the smallest tweak makes all the difference.

Did you check your wire speed too or just the voltage?
