Old timer Bill told me to always double loop my rigging. I didn't listen.

I was working a boiler job in Gary, Indiana last month and skipped the second loop on a 2-ton drum lift because I was in a hurry. That load slipped right off the hook and smashed a concrete floor six feet below. Bill just shook his head and handed me a shovel. Anyone else learn a hard lesson from ignoring someone with 30 years in the trade?

Six feet down and your hands are still attached to your arms?

Man, didn't you used to think you'd just flail around down there? I'll be honest, I always figured they'd come off in the dirt, but a few videos from actual gravediggers totally changed my mind for me.
