My old angle grinder vs. the new cordless, no contest after 3 weeks on a job in Omaha
I ran a 7-inch corded grinder for years on boiler tube prep. Last month I finally swapped to a cordless with a 9 amp hour battery. I figured I'd lose power or burn through packs fast, but I cleared 40 tube ends in half the time with one charge. The kicker was the lack of cord snagging on scaffolding, which ate up way more time than I ever admitted. I still keep the corded one for heavy plate work, but for tight spots and overhead, I'm converted. Anyone else notice their cordless gear pulling more weight than they expected?

Heck yeah, I saw a guy on a forum say the same thing about battery life and scaffolding, that it somehow makes you work faster just from not tripping over cords. I'm definitely keeping my corded one for the heavy stuff too, but it's wild how good the new packs have gotten.
