Sounds like when you turn the music up louder thinking it'll make you drive better but you just end up missing your exit. More of a thing doesn't automatically mean better results, and heat is one of those where there's a sweet spot. I've seen guys crank the amps up on thin stuff too and watch it blow holes right through, same idea. Two inch pipe pulls heat away fast so you think more is the fix, but pretty soon the puddle is running and the toes are undercut. Sometimes backing off is the move you never expect.
