Hit 2,000 tube welds on my log book last Friday and I just stared at the number
Started keeping a tally in a spiral notebook back in 2021 mostly to track which rod batches were giving me trouble on 2 inch schedule 40. Flipped past the page with the R stamp date on it and realized the count had rolled past 2,000 somewhere in the middle of a refinery turnaround in Gary. Anybody else keep a running count, or am I the only one weird enough to write this stuff down?

Kept a similar book when I was running a lot of stainless dairy tube back in the day. Except mine wasn't welds, it was the number of times I had to cut out a bad start and redo it because the tungsten got bumped. Got up to around 400 or so before I quit writing it down. My foreman found the notebook in my hood one day and thought I was keeping a diary. Told him it was my confessions of a guy who can't keep his arc from wandering. He laughed and told me to stop wasting paper. Wish I'd kept it going now, just to see the number.
