Found out my old flux was eating through copper pipe fittings

Been using the same tub of flux for like 4 years and just read on a Grainger forum that some old fluxes have ammonium chloride that corrodes joints from the inside over time. The company I buy from said 2 out of 10 fittings on a hot water line can fail inside 5 years with that stuff. Anyone else check their flux dates after reading something like that?

Could be old flux eating brass fittings too, not just copper.

Buddy of mine had a hot water line pop in his wall from old flux, ruined the drywall.
