Dropped $200 on a fancy welding hood with auto-darkening and already regretting it

Got the Lincoln Viking 3350 after a buddy swore by it. Worked great for the first three weeks, then the sensors went haywire. Keeps flickering on me mid weld, especially in bright sunlight. Tried adjusting the shade settings and cleaning the lenses, nothing helps. Anyone else have issues with auto-darkening hoods acting up after a few jobs? Thinking about just swapping back to a fixed shade.

Ngl this is just how everything works now - they build stuff to last just long enough for you to tell your friends it's good, then it craps out right after. Had the same thing with a torque wrench a few months back, worked perfect for a month then started giving weird readings.
