PSA: That $60 'wooden' board game insert on Etsy is actually MDF and warped in 2 weeks

Craig.nathan nailed it. I read somewhere that a lot of those Etsy shops just buy bulk MDF from the same cheap suppliers. You're basically paying for the paint job, not quality wood.

$60 for a board game insert and it's just painted MDF that warps like a cheap cutting board. I bought one of those "wooden" organizers for my copy of Scythe and within a week the player trays were bowing so bad the pieces wouldn't even fit anymore. I guess my life is just a series of bad decisions, like that time I tried to save money on a bookshelf from a discount store and it collapsed on my cat. At least the cat was fine, but now I'm stuck using Ziploc bags like a cave man.
