Pro tip: Our game group went from silent to chatty after one simple change

We've been meeting every Tuesday for about a year, and for months, we'd just set up, play, and pack up with maybe five words spoken. Last month, I brought a copy of 'Just One' and we played a quick 15-minute round before our main game. The difference was huge. People started laughing and actually talking about strategy for the rest of the night. Has anyone else found a specific warm-up game that breaks the ice for their quieter groups?

Any short cooperative game works" feels like a stretch... sure, they can be fun, but is it really that deep? It's just hanging out and playing a game. The whole point is to chill, not overthink it. Some games are definitely better for that vibe than others. Picking the right one matters, but it's not a huge deal if it's not perfect. We're talking about maybe an hour of time here.
