Hot take: a guy at my Tuesday game night in Toledo said he rates games by table talk, not rules
I always graded a game by how tight the rules were, but he told me he tracks how many times people laugh or lean in over the first hour, which made me rethink why my shelf of heavy euros rarely hits the table anymore, so now I am curious whether other folks here weigh table energy over mechanics when they decide what to keep.
