Had no idea a game rule book could be this bad
Bought a used copy of a 90s wargame at a thrift store. $5. Rule book was 40 pages. Took me 3 hours to figure out how to set up the board. The writer skipped steps. Assumed you knew stuff. I finally found an old forum post from 2008 that explained it in 2 sentences. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon on a rule book that made no sense?

Wait, was there maybe a translation or editing issue with that rulebook? I mean, it's just weird that a forum post from 2008 could clear it up in two sentences when the writer needed 40 pages. @the_kai's youtube suggestion is solid, but honestly sometimes I wonder if game designers back then just assumed everyone had already played something similar.
