Got my sports-obsessed buddy into strategic board games

He always thought they were for nerds, but now he's planning our next game night. A little competition goes a long way.

Ugh, bad move. He's gonna realize board games are just pretend competition without any real action. Now you've ruined a perfectly good sports buddy with all that cardboard piece pushing.

Real action" lol okay. You mean like standing around waiting for a ref to decide if someone's foot was on a line? Board games have more tension than that. Pulling off a comeback in Catan when everyone's got you blocked feels way more intense than watching a dude run 40 yards. Plus in board games you actually make the decisions yourself instead of just yelling at a screen. Sports are just watching other people have all the fun. At least with cardboard you're the one getting mad at your own bad choices.

Football playbooks are just diagrams on paper too, rowanburns. Guess all strategy is pretend.
