Back in 2012, I used to spend an hour sorting all the pieces for a new game. Now I just dump the box on the table and let everyone dig in.

Oh man, @schmidt.troy, you're so right. That sorting was the best part. Unboxing a new game, laying out all the cards in neat piles, putting the money in order. It was like a calm before the storm. Now it's just a free for all and someone always mixes the decks. I found a red hotel from Monopoly in my Catan box last month. Pure chaos.

Remember that hour of sorting was part of the fun for me (and a good way to check for missing pieces). The chaos of everyone digging in now just means I'm the one who finds a piece under the couch leg a week later. That quiet sorting time was my little ritual before the fun started.
