We ran out of hot dogs at our block party so my neighbor's 12 year old ran home and grabbed 40 frozen pizza rolls
Last August we threw our first block party on Oak Street and grilled 120 hot dogs, which vanished in about 25 minutes because nobody told me teenagers eat like they just got out of jail. My neighbor Dana's kid sprinted two houses down and came back with four bags of frozen pizza rolls, and we cooked them in a electric griddle someone's grandma brought for the corn. The whole crowd went nuts for those pizza rolls and basically ignored the potato salad table. Now we buy 200 hot dogs and 6 bags of pizza rolls every single year. Does anyone else have a backup food that somehow steals the show from the main spread?
We had the same thing happen with a veggie tray at our cookout. My aunt brought one of those store trays just to have something cold, and people destroyed it before the burgers were even done. Now we grab two of them every time and they still disappear first.
