The $12 extension cord that saved our block party when the bounce house died
Two summers back I was running the block party on our street in Fort Wayne, and about an hour in the bounce house blower just quit on us. I had 20 kids staring at me and one dad, Mike, walked over and asked if I had a heavy duty cord instead of the skinny one I'd grabbed from the garage. He said the cheap cord was choking the blower and probably melted at the plug, which I never thought about. Sure enough the end was scorched, we swapped in his 12 gauge cord and that thing ran the rest of the day without a hiccup. Does anyone else keep a fat extension cord in their party bin just for the inflatables, or am I the only one who learned this the hard way?
