Vent: spent $40 on a time lock box for my phone and it worked until I figured out how to open it with a butter knife

The real issue is that those boxes are made of cheap plastic, so the lock mechanism is basically a joke. I had one where the latch was soft enough that I could just push it back with my thumbnail, no butter knife needed. The company knows this too, they just count on you not thinking about it in the moment. Next time try putting the phone in your car trunk instead, way harder to outsmart yourself when it's not in the same room.
